If your bathtub or shower features this drain type, pressing down on the stopper secures it, stopping water from draining. Most foot lock drain stoppers provide flexibility by shifting back and forth under pressure, which helps prevent stubbed toes. To release a foot lock tub and let water drain, you need to bend down and pull the stopper up. Alternatively, if your toes are nimble, you can lift it with your foot.",[35,43,45],{"id":44},"structure","Structure",[16,47,48],{},"Foot lock bathtub drains usually come with their own assemblies. An assembly typically includes plastic piping that creates an airtight seal at one end for the drain system and a drain hole for the stopper. The drain hole contains features that help the stopper achieve a watertight seal. These features might involve threads, similar to those on a screw, to hold the stopper when you step on it. Rubber gaskets may also be included in the assembly. These gaskets collaborate with a matching part on the stopper to generate suction that keeps the stopper in position.",[35,50,52],{"id":51},"maintenance","Maintenance",[16,54,55],{},"Foot lock bathtub drain stoppers are perfect for drain cleaning. In contrast to pop-up stoppers or rotary drain systems, which have many connected mechanical parts, foot lock stoppers can be pulled entirely out of a drain with little pressure. These stoppers operate as standalone units that you can readily remove from your drain system, just as you can with a foot lock bathtub. A roller ball stopper functions identically to a foot lock tub, except manufacturers design them for hand operation rather than foot.
