Engine Design

The Force 50 hp outboard relied on a two-cylinder, two-stroke powerplant. To link the shaft with the propeller hub, the engine employed 13 splines.

Operating Parameters

At wide open throttle, these Force 50 hp outboards operated between a minimum of 4,750 rpm and a maximum of 5,250 rpm. The engine's gear ratio was measured at 2-to-1.

Propeller Options

Force 50 hp outboard engines came with three-blade, C-style propellers. For a target speed range of 17 to 20 mph, the suggested propeller had a 12.25-inch diameter and a nine-degree pitch. When the goal was 32 to 38 mph, the recommended propeller measured 11.75 inches in diameter with a pitch of 17 degrees.
