When your flip flop breaks, don't toss it. You can give it a new life and a personal touch with colorful bias tape. Just collect your inexpensive or worn-out flip flops and follow along.

Step 1
Remove the existing strap from the flip flop.

Step 2
Pick out bias tape that matches or complements your style.

Step 3
Cut the bias tape into four 10-inch strips, and tie a knot at one end of each strip.

Step 4
Slide a washer onto the bottom of the flip flop, positioning it under the toe hole.

Step 5
Take one strip of bias tape and push it through the toe hole. Then take a second strip and push it through the same hole. Pull both tight and snip off the excess from the knots.

Step 6
Put a washer under each side hole, then feed the bias tape through from the top.

Step 7
Put the flip flop on and adjust the bias tape until it feels comfortable. Secure each strip with a knot and cut off any extra length.

Step 8
Apply a dab of super glue to the end of each knot to secure it and prevent fraying.
