Tackling Lower Abdominal Fat: A Practical Approach

When someone's body prefers to accumulate fat around the lower midsection, a pear-shaped belly is the result. Reducing that stubborn lower belly fat can feel like an uphill battle, yet a focused strategy that builds muscle in place of stomach fat—combined with careful tracking of calorie intake—can make lasting control of the tummy achievable.

A pear-shaped belly develops when a person's body tends to deposit fat in the lower part of the midsection. Although lower belly fat can feel maddeningly hard to shed, creating a deliberate plan to swap stomach fat for muscle while closely monitoring calorie consumption gives you a solid chance of finally getting your midsection under control.

Step 1

Put on control-top pantyhose or a stomach-slimming undershirt. Kicking off your belly-reduction efforts with a confidence-building undergarment can improve how you feel about your body and help you muster the willpower to avoid overeating or skipping workouts.

Step 2

Make sure you drink a lot of water. Studies indicate that water can help you feel satiated, particularly if you drink it before eating. Regardless of where extra fat sits on your body, consuming fewer calories than your body requires will cause you to burn it off.

Step 3

Get a stability ball and use it for crunches aimed at your lower abdominal muscles. Every morning, lie on top of the ball with your lower back resting on it, and complete three sets of ten crunches. For each crunch, interlace your fingers behind your head, raise your upper body to a 45-degree angle, and hold that position for a count of two.

Step 4

Each evening, do one hundred bicycle crunches to help firm up your entire midsection. Lie on the floor with your hands behind your head and draw your knees toward your chest. For every crunch, straighten one leg upward and bring the elbow on that same side to the knee of the opposite leg; then switch to the other side.

Step 5

Keep your breakfast small but loaded with fruit, fiber, and protein so you stay full throughout the morning.

Step 6

Bring a modest lunch and replace beverages that contain calories with water.

Step 7

Eat a meal together with your family rather than preparing a separate dish just for yourself. Take a smaller helping than usual and encourage your family to try healthier main dishes. Plenty of dieters abandon their eating plans at dinner because resisting what everyone else is eating can be very hard.
