They also reduce cleanup time in the kitchen. By preheating your gas grill correctly and keeping it well-maintained, you can look forward to many years of outdoor cooking. Reading the owner's manual and following its instructions is always recommended. Nonetheless, you can light and preheat a grill by simply following a few steps.
Step 1
Lift the grill lid, then turn the knob on the gas tank to open the line. Switch on one burner.
Step 2
Press the ignition button if your grill has one, or use matches or a lighter to ignite the burner.
Step 3
If there's a second burner, turn it on as well.
Step 4
Allow the grill to preheat on high for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Step 5
Shut the lid and let the grill reach the temperature suitable for your cooking.
