Creating a Homemade Cupid Outfit for Any Age
A Cupid getup works for Valentine's Day gatherings or October festivities, and making one yourself is a simple project. Because Cupid is typically depicted as tiny, putting a baby in this costume can produce a convincing angel look. With basic sewing supplies and a few store-bought extras, you can assemble the whole ensemble.

A Cupid costume can serve you well at a Valentine's Day event or a Halloween party, lifting the mood and bringing a smile to a partner's face. Since Cupid is usually shown as a small figure, dressing a baby this way can yield a more believable angel appearance. Building the outfit at home, wings and toy bow included, is a way to add festive spirit to the occasion.
Step 1
Decide on the amount of white fabric needed. A pillowcase can serve for a child or infant, while an adult will require a long sheet or a comparable piece of white material. Whatever you choose, it should reach from the shoulders down to below the knees.
Step 2
Turn the material into a dress shape by sewing it, leaving openings for the arms and head. With a pillowcase, cut away the bottom and create slits for the arms. If you are using a sheet or fabric, drape it on the person and use pins to mark where the edges should meet. Then close the seams with a needle and thread or a sewing machine.
Step 3
Use the gold ribbon or cord as a belt by winding it around the waist. Fasten it into a bow positioned at the stomach, and trim away whatever is left over.
Step 4
Finish the look with sandals, which echo the style traditionally associated with Cupid's attire.
Step 5
Using the red felt, cut out heart shapes and attach them as decoration on the white fabric.
Step 6
Look for additional pieces at costume shops, party supply stores or toy stores. A laurel wreath worn like a crown and a toy bow and arrow are among the usual choices.
