How Air Chambers Replace Traditional Springs
Rather than using the coils or springs found in conventional mattresses, Sleep Number beds rely on air chambers. These chambers inflate or deflate to alter the mattress's firmness or softness. A remote control included with the bed lets users adjust the air chambers, enabling both occupants to get the level of support they prefer.
Separate Settings for Each Sleeper
Every Sleep Number bed comes with dual settings, meaning each person can use the remote to adjust the softness of their own half of the mattress. This proves especially useful for couples, as each individual can essentially "create" a mattress that suits them best. A person's sleep number is influenced by several factors, with values ranging from one to 100. A person's weight and height can also affect how soft or firm the Sleep Number bed should be.
