Creating a Personal Beaded Identifier for Your Stethoscope
In settings like hospitals or medical schools, many individuals own stethoscopes, which are essential for both diagnosing conditions and conducting regular examinations. Since each doctor and nurse uses their own stethoscope, and they often look alike, it's easy to mix them up. A beaded ID tag adds a personal touch to help avoid confusion.

Protect your stethoscope from theft or loss by using an ID tag.
Hospitals and medical schools are places where many people rely on stethoscopes. This tool is crucial for identifying various health issues and for everyday check-ups. Since each doctor and nurse has their own stethoscope, and they tend to look similar, it's simple to lose track of whose is whose. Crafting a beaded ID tag gives your stethoscope a unique look, which helps prevent such mix-ups.
Step 1
Take a measurement of the "U" shaped section that lies between the two earpieces. Stethoscope tags are typically attached here.
Step 2
Cut a length of jewelry wire that matches your measurement plus an extra 2 inches.
Step 3
Arrange your beads on a table in front of you. Plan the sequence by placing each bead in the order you want them to appear on the wire.
Step 4
Take one end of the wire and pass it through an open jump ring. Ensure the jump ring is large enough to go around the stethoscope tubing. Create a small loop with the wire and fasten it using a jewelry clamp; use pliers to squeeze the clamp shut where the wire ends meet.
Step 5
String the beads onto the wire in your chosen sequence. When you get to the other end, make a loop around a second open jump ring and attach it with another jewelry clamp to finish the tag.
Step 6
Attach the completed ID tag to your stethoscope. Use jewelry pliers to open each jump ring, then slip them around both sides of the base of the "U" shaped area. Close the rings with the pliers so they are securely fastened.
