Candle Stability: How to Secure Candles in Candlesticks
Placing candles in candlesticks securely prevents wobbling and reduces fire risk. Even correctly sized candles may loosen, but a simple tape or foil trick can fix that.

Keep the candles firmly in the candleholder.
When inserting candles into candlesticks, the goal is for them to remain upright and stable, without any wobbling, so you can light them without fear of them falling out and causing a fire. Certain candles slide in perfectly and stay put without any extra effort. However, even if you use the right size candle for your candlestick, it might still not stay in place. In such cases, give the candle's base a little padding.
Step 1
Take a piece of sticky tape that is a bit longer than the candle's diameter. Make sure the tape's width does not exceed the depth of the candlestick's opening.
Step 2
Wrap the tape around the bottom of the candle (the part that goes into the holder) with the adhesive side facing outward. This places the sticky part on the outside. Double-sided tape works as well.
Step 3
Put the candle into the holder. If it still feels loose, apply additional tape.
