Ways to Verify Your Electronic Airline Ticket
Many airlines allow passengers to buy tickets electronically, either straight from the carrier or via online travel agencies like Expedia, Orbitz, or Travelocity. This approach lets you compare options from home to find a good price. After buying an e-ticket, you need to go through a few steps to confirm your flight details.

Confirming your e-ticket is a process made simple for every traveler.
A number of large airlines provide e-tickets as a way to make buying airfare easier. You can get these tickets straight from an airline's own website, or by using a third-party travel site like Expedia, Orbitz, or Travelocity. One benefit of e-tickets is that you are able to look at different websites from your own home to find a favorable price. After you have bought an e-ticket, verifying your flight involves a straightforward process.
Step 1
Open the email account that you gave when you bought the e-ticket. When you purchase an e-ticket from an airline, a travel agency, or a travel website, the ticket arrives in your email. Because an e-ticket is issued this way, you do not need to contact the airline to confirm your flight—the company you bought the ticket from handles that automatically. What you do need to do is make sure the details shown on the e-ticket are correct.
Step 2
Go over the details of your trip. For example, check that the passenger name on the ticket is your name, and make sure the itinerary is right.
Step 3
Print out the email containing the e-ticket so that you have your boarding pass reference code, the e-ticket number, your trip ID, and the payment information. You will need the reference code when you check in online or at the airport. It also acts as proof of travel when you are at the airport.
Step 4
Go to the website where you bought the e-ticket and log in to check in online. Use the username and password you set up when you purchased the e-ticket. Some airlines let you check in online so that you can print your boarding pass, and you might even be able to choose your seat in advance. After you have confirmed your e-ticket, all you have to do is arrive at the airport on time. If you did not print your boarding pass from the Internet, you can use a self-service kiosk at the airport or go to the airline's check-in counter.
