Resetting the Combination on a Samsonite Bag or Ordering a Replacement Key
Samsonite briefcases and suitcases often come with combination locks that help prevent theft and unwanted access. You can reset the code whenever you like, whether you've forgotten the current one or simply want to change it. Pick a combination that's memorable for you but hard for others to guess. If a key for your Samsonite lock has gone missing, a replacement can be ordered for your bag.

A number of Samsonite bags — briefcases and luggage among them — are equipped with combination locks that serve to deter theft and keep unauthorized people out. Whether you've forgotten the code on your Samsonite lock or simply feel like changing it, resetting can be done at any time. Choose a new combination that sticks in your memory yet remains difficult for anyone else to guess. Should a key for a Samsonite lock be lost, you can order a replacement key for your bag.
Step 1
Shut the Samsonite briefcase or luggage.
Step 2
Set the dials on the Samsonite bag to "0-0-0-0." For bags that have only three dials, use "0-0-0." That is the combination the lock ships with from the factory.
Step 3
Press and hold the small button located beside the dials. On certain Samsonite bags, there is a lever next to the dials instead. In that case, push the lever down and keep holding it at its lowest point.
Step 4
Rotate every dial to the number you want, building the code of your choice.
Step 5
Let go of the button or lever. The combination has now been reset, and your new code can be used to open the lock. If the reset somehow fails and the Samsonite bag cannot be opened, turn to the information in Section 2 to reach Samsonite's customer service department for help.

Dial Samsonite Customer Service at 1-800-262-8282. Representatives can be reached Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST.
Step 2
On your telephone keypad, press "1" followed by "6" to reach a representative and order a replacement key or padlock.
Step 3
Cover the required fee. After that, Samsonite will send out the replacement key.
