Printing United Airlines E-Tickets: A Step-by-Step Guide
Longer security queues at airports make advance preparation worthwhile. Airport security waits seem to keep getting longer, which is why many travelers look for ways to save time. If you have an upcoming United Airlines trip—whether for a holiday or a work commitment—printing your E-Ticket ahead of time is worth considering. A boarding pass in hand means fewer hassles once you reach the airport, and it also gives you the opportunity to pick your seats and potentially lower your baggage costs.
Step 1
Go to the United Airlines website (see Resources) one day before your departure. From the homepage, click the "Check-in" tab. Regardless of whether your reservation was made online or by phone, you should have received a confirmation or E-Ticket number.
Step 2
Type your confirmation or E-Ticket number into the field provided. Adding your last name as well helps the United Airlines site return results faster.
Step 3
Look over your itinerary and then print it. United Airlines provides a "print" button on the page, though you can also use the print option in your browser's dropdown menu.
Step 4
Check that your printed E-Ticket contains all the necessary details, such as your name, flight number, and bar code. A ticket without the bar code will not be accepted.
