Transform your yard into an entertainment-ready space with a DIY wood pallet bar, and learn how to eliminate crabgrass beforehand for a polished look.

If you enjoy having friends over for outdoor gatherings or simply want to make your backyard a more relaxing retreat, constructing a basic wood pallet bar can upgrade your yard to summer-ready status in a single weekend.
The video below provides a step-by-step guide, beginning with lawn weed removal—since no one wants crabgrass ruining the party atmosphere. For additional lawn care advice, visit Weeding Wisely.

Phase 1: Eliminate mature crabgrass using Roundup® for Lawns Crabgrass Destroyer₁
One to two weeks prior to building your backyard bar, apply Roundup® for Lawns Crabgrass Destroyer₁ to kill crabgrass, ensuring a clean foundation. The weeds will turn white within four to seven days after treatment, indicating the product is effective.
Phase 2: Prepare and paint the wood components
Remove any dirt from the wood pallets. Spray paint all wooden parts (pallets and plywood) in your chosen color. Allow 24 hours to dry.
Phase 3: Join the wood pallets
Fasten the four 12-inch wood pieces to the pallets using screws to link them and form the bar's base.
Phase 4: Install the plywood bar top
Use the remaining screws to attach the plywood to the top of the pallet base. Position the bar where you want it in your backyard, fill it with necessities, and prepare to host!
