Coordinating Paint Shades with Oiled Bronze Fixtures in a Bathroom
Oiled bronze offers a gentler metallic look compared to standard bronze and has grown into a favored substitute for typical stainless steel. Both interior designers and manufacturers have been using oiled bronze to add warmth to bathroom and kitchen spaces.

Oiled bronze matches many different color schemes.
Compared with neutral bronze, oiled bronze presents a gentler metallic appearance and has been gaining traction as a favored substitute for typical stainless steel. Designers and manufacturers have both turned to oiled bronze to bring warmth into bathrooms and kitchens. Variations exist depending on which manufacturer produces it, but its core tone stays neutral, and the warm caramel and black shades it carries make selecting a suitable bathroom color scheme fairly straightforward.
Autumnal Tones
Colors from the warmer section of the wheel provide strong options for a bathroom fitted with oiled bronze hardware. Shades associated with fall, including russet and ochre, pair nicely with the gentle glow of oil-rubbed bronze. If a bolder autumn palette is desired, consider yellow-gold, amber or soft orange combinations. These fall hues can be freely combined, provided they are not too intense or saturated.
Green
Green comes in a wide range of shades, from pale to deep, that suit oiled bronze in a bathroom. Darker greens drawn from nature, such as mossy or forest green, draw out the faint sheen of oil bronzes whose patina (coating) carries a hint of green. To keep the bathroom from feeling too dark, an accent wall near the oiled bronze hardware is one option, with neutral beige or a lighter green on the remaining walls to brighten the room. A pale neutral green, such as light yellow-green or light mint, with a bit of gray, complements the cooler, gunmetal finishes of oiled bronze.
Purples and Burgundies
Purple and burgundy shades are most effective with gold tone oiled bronzes, though they also highlight the green within the patina. Strong burgundies in deep wine and mahogany shades are well suited to oiled bronzes that have brown, reddish or gold finishes. Dark purples can cover an entire room or be limited to an accent wall. Lavender can be added to stay within the color theme, or ivory can be used to lighten the space.
Warm Neutrals
Natural warm hues, such as beige and taupe, with just the right amount of yellow, draw out the warmth frequently present in oiled bronze finishes. One factor to keep in mind is how flexible the neutral color is. A light warm neutral tends to work well with the bathroom's overall decor, whereas a darker neutral may feel oppressive and restrictive.
