You can make your own Star Wars gift wrappings.
Unleash your inner Jedi and craft unique Star Wars-themed gift packaging to adorn presents for the Star Wars lovers in your life this Christmas. The three projects below include a Chewbacca cookie tin (yes, a Wookiee tin), a Stormtrooper gift bag clip, and a lightsaber gift tube. Each is designed to be reused, so recipients can keep enjoying them well past the holiday season. May the Force accompany you throughout the festivities!
Chewbacca Cookie Tin
Step 1: Attach Faux Fur to the Lid
Cut a circle of brown faux fur to cover the lid of the round cookie tin. Make the circle slightly bigger than the lid, leaving about 1/4 inch of extra fabric to fold over and glue along the rim. Use hot glue to secure it onto the lid.
Step 2: Cover the Sides with Fur
Cut a long strip of brown faux fur and glue it around the side of the tin.
Step 3: Remove Excess Fur
Trim away any surplus fur near the top of the tin so the lid can fit back on properly.
Step 4: Add a Brown Ribbon Wrap
Put the lid back on, then take a piece of brown ribbon and wrap it diagonally across the top. Glue the ribbon ends to the bottom of the tin.
Step 5: Make Chewbacca's Belt
Cut small gray felt rectangles that match the ribbon's width, and glue them over the brown ribbon to form Chewbacca's belt. This completes the Star Wars gift wrap for any round cookie tin.
Stormtrooper Gift Bag Clip
Step 1: Print and Cut the Templates
Print the free template and cut out the three pieces.
Step 2: Trace and Cut the Helmet and Features
Trace the helmet outline onto white cardstock and the eyes and mouth onto black cardstock. Cut out all pieces.
Step 3: Add the Face to the Helmet
Glue the eyes and mouth onto the helmet.
Step 4: Attach the Clothespin
Glue a clothespin to the back of the helmet, then clip it to the top of a white gift bag.
Lightsaber Gift Tube
Step 1: Paint the Tube
Spray paint the mailing tube blue. Let the paint dry completely.
Step 2: Make the Handle with Duct Tape
After the paint is dry, wrap silver duct tape around the bottom third of the tube.
Step 3: Add Black Tape Stripes
Wrap black duct tape around the top and center of the handle. For the top stripe, cut the tape in half lengthwise to make it thinner than the center stripe.
Step 4: Finish the Handle
Cut small rectangles of black duct tape and stick them vertically at the bottom of the handle to complete your homemade lightsaber.
Step 5: Enjoy Your Lightsaber
Now go and celebrate, young Jedi!
